  • In Feb 25th, 2005, Prof. J. D. Kilbnurn, dean of School of Chemistry, University of Southampton, visited the Laboratory and consulted about bilateral cooperation and exchanges.
  • In past three evaluations every five years (in 1994, in 1999, and in 2004), the Laboratory has been ranked in the highest category (Grade 'A' Laboratory) by an external committee of experts organized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Sciences and Technology.
  • The concerted achievement in synthesis and characterization of C50Cl10 was published in Science, 304, 699(2004)
  • The Laboratory has been invited as the partner to jointly establish International Max Planck Research School for Surface and Interface Engineering in Advanced Materials.
