报告摘要:

Rechargeable aqueous zinc battery, as a novel promising candidate to grid-scale energy storage system, has drawn tremendous attention recently. Our group has been actively working in design nanostructured electrode materials for metal-ion batteries (Na, K, Zn), hybrid capacitors, and electrocatalysts for metal-air batteries. In this talk, I will present our latest results on new cathode materials for both Zn-ion battery and Zn-air battery. Specifically, we developed layered ZnOV nanosheets that are directly grown on a 3D graphite current collector. The assembled Zn-ion full cell based on this cathode and 3D Zn flake anode show high cyclic stability and rate performance compared to devices using Zn foils. We also studied the Zn ion storage mechanism in a new-type of layered vanadium oxyhydroxide nanobelts. In-situ XRD characterization and DFT calculation help to reveal the Zn intercalation process for both cases. As for the Zn-air battery cathode, through rational designed cathode materials, we achieved full batteries that can run more than 1000 hour without evident degradation. For this the cathode is composed of NiFe alloy fine particles uniform dispersed within CNTs which is proven an efficient catalyst for both OER and ORR.
